Completed Fieldwork: Field B

Description[Monitoring][Preliminary Results]

Field B is approximately 3km from Field A, sharing similar underlying geology of glacial sands and gravels overlying the Upper Chalk. The field is approximately 80ha and has a network of field drains, at approximately 30 m spacing, draining into a drainage ditch. The ditch is usually hydrologically active from October to March, for the remainder of the year the ditch is dry.

The field received and application of biosolids in November 2002 at 50 t ha-1. An adjacent field with the same drain spacing and soil type that has not received any biosolids since 1988 served as a control for Field B. In September 2004 a further application of biosolids was made at a rate of 25 t ha-1.
