The SEAL Project is a multi-centre, multi-disciplinary research project involving both field experiments and predictive modelling at a variety of scales to meet the pressures on land and water resources in the UK linked to sewage sludge (biosolids) recycling to land.

The aim of the project is to develop an advice matrix for end-users on the most suitable form and frequency of spatially-sensitive sludge application to land to achieve sustainable sludge management and to minimise environmental risk

This web site is designed to provide information on the research being performed, the results of this research how it can be applied to land management.

Please follow the links on the left hand side of the page to find out more about the SEAL project and how field work and modelling are being used to achieve the project aims.

A glossary has been included to help explain some of the aspects of the research, however if you have any comments or queries please contact us, the details can be found here.
