The curriculum emphasises hands-on experience with AI tools, engagement with industry practitioners, and stimulating discussions on relevant topics.

This master's programme offers a practical and transformative learning experience that aligns with the rapidly evolving field of AI.

You do not need previous knowledge of AI to apply for this programme. We welcome students from diverse academic backgrounds, including social sciences, humanities, management, business, and engineering. The programme is also suitable for students from an AI background who want to build their knowledge of management functions and processes.

Programme content

The key themes covered in this programme are:

  • People, Work, and AI: Examine the transformative impact of AI on People Management and the nature of work and jobs, particularly in areas such as recruitment, talent development, employee engagement, job design, and productivity. Through critical assessment and hands-on practice, gain a nuanced understanding of AI's opportunities and risks for managing people and work in contemporary organisations.
  • Managing Change and AI: AI is reshaping industries and redefining work practices, making effective change management essential for organisations adopting these emerging technologies. You will explore the strategies and frameworks critical for implementing AI, ensuring smooth transitions, overcoming challenges, realising AI’s potential, and developing the skills to lead AI-driven change in dynamic and emerging organisational environments successfully.
  • AI in Data Analytics: Explore how AI transforms data analytics by automating and streamlining every stage of the analysis process. Learn how AI tools support data collection, preparation, and organisation, making data ready for analysis. Explore use cases of how machine learning models can be trained or fine-tuned to uncover insights and patterns for more intelligent, data-driven decision-making, and learn about the key limitations and risks of these technologies when applied to data analytics.
  • AI in Economy and Finance: AI is transforming decision-making by enhancing information flows and providing valuable insights into economic trends, demand forecasting, market fluctuations, and prices. Through deeper competitor and consumer analysis, AI improves strategic resource allocation and offers new perspectives on business models. In finance, AI reshapes processes like forecasting, risk management, and trading. This theme combines critical analysis with practical experience to equip you with a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges AI presents for management professionals in the economic and financial sectors.
  • AI and Society: Examines the complex ethical, political, and environmental issues surrounding AI's role in transforming businesses, organisations, and public institutions and gain a comprehensive understanding of the nuanced and complex relationship between AI technologies and societal values. Through real-world examples, address critical topics such as transparency, explainability, autonomy, fairness, bias, security, and intellectual property, so that you are able to thoughtfully engage in discussions and decisions in settings where these technologies are actively deployed.
  • Capstone Project: Apply your knowledge, critical skills, and practical expertise to develop an AI-driven solution or investigate an organisational dilemma to address real-world challenges faced by organisations. This project emphasises translating theoretical insights into actionable strategies, allowing you to demonstrate and critically assess the value and impact of AI within a specific use case or industry context. The aim is to design a showcase project that emphasises the transformative potential of AI in organisational settings and highlights your knowledge to prospective employers.
