Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

I chose LUMS because of its position in various business school rankings and its strong reputation for partnerships with employers, businesses and entrepreneurs, which offered me invaluable industry experience while at the school. LUMS is also located near the Lake District, England's largest National Park, which provided me with lots of opportunities for water sports, hiking, and other recreational activities.

What was the best thing about your course?

The DBIM programme's highlight is the hands-on collaboration with real businesses to tackle technology and business challenges. For my Consultancy Dissertation Project, I partnered with a UK SME specialising in bathroom products to develop optimal digital marketing strategies. This experience ignited my passion for problem-solving and consulting, influencing my career choice in the industry.

What/who inspired you most at LUMS and why?

Among those who inspired me most at LUMS was Dima Jarrar, a peer in the DBIM programme with over five years prior experience in strategy. Her innovative thinking and exceptional communication skills during classes motivated me to enhance both my technical abilities and my interpersonal skills.

Describe your time at LUMS in three words.

Diverse, rewarding, fun.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

Among the most memorable experiences I've had at Lancaster are the times spent with friends I keep in touch with. These include hiking in the Lake District, relaxing by the River Lune, and cycling with the Lancaster University Cycling Club.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

The mountainous terrain that surrounds it.

What impact did scholarships or funding have on your degree experience?

Receiving scholarships and funding enabled me to pursue additional academic opportunities, such as conferences and workshops, that enriched my learning experience.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

During my master’s studies, frequent interactions with peers who had years of professional experience significantly enhanced my skills and approach to teamwork, positively impacting my performance and interactions in my current job.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

The DBIM master's programme provided me with a distinct competitive edge among graduates in Malaysia. Coming from a background in Accounting and Finance, I never anticipated working in cybersecurity, but I am passionate about it now. I am committed to continuous learning and growth in my career, aspiring to become a digital leader in Malaysia and beyond.

Is there anything else about your LUMS experience that you'd like to share with us?
