N8 Research Culture and Environment (RCE) Group

Lancaster University is part of the N8 Research Partnership - a collaboration of the eight most research intensive universities in the North of England. The N8 Research Culture and Environment working group is charged with taking forward the N8 universities commitment to a healthy and collaborative research culture.

Current areas of focus include:

Space for Collaboration

The room booking system is available for staff and for students, including PGRs, offering a wide number of rooms of different sizes across campus. Other spaces that sit outside the room booking system include:

  • Archive Research Centre (ARC) - a bespoke research space for staff and students allowing access to the archive collections. Development of the Centre was supported by the UKRI Enhancing Research Culture fund. Email the Library to enquire about using the space.
  • Work in Progress –there are two bookable spaces on Alexander Square that can be used by students and staff for running interactive and networking activities: Work in Progress Booking Form
  • Library Group Booking Spaces - 4-8 person spaces for staff and students that can be used for discussion groups and collaboration.
