Supporting Morecambe Bay Foodbank during Global Positive Change Week

Lancaster University is encouraging the campus community to make a positive impact on the local community during Global Positive Change Week (Monday 10 – Friday 14 March 2025).
As part of this initiative, there will be a Morecambe Bay Foodbank collection open in Guest Services throughout the entire week (dates and times below)
All donated goods will be delivered to Morecambe Bay Foodbank on Friday 14 March to support families and individuals facing food insecurity across the local area.
Morecambe Bay Foodbank has specified a need of the below items, as well as other in-date, non-perishable items that the campus community can spare.
- Tinned sweetcorn
- Long life fruit juice cartons
- Tinned meats (e.g. beef and onion, chicken, etc.)
- Tinned potatoes (large tins)
- Nappies (size 6+)
- Instant noodles
- Small jars of coffee
- Please note, peas are not required.
A spokesperson at Morecambe Bay Foodbank said:
“Any non-perishable food items are welcome and greatly appreciated. Even small contributions can make a big difference in the lives of local families.”
Lancaster University’s involvement in Global Positive Change Week reflects its commitment to social responsibility, community service, and global citizenship. By contributing to this foodbank collection, everyone has an opportunity make a real difference in the local community.

Collection dates:
- Monday 11 March - Friday 14 March 2025
- 9am-5.30pm on Monday – Wednesday
- 9am-5pm on Thursday-Friday
