The aim of the scholarship is to support women candidates of merit and to help increase the number of women joining Lancaster University Management School’s Cyber Security Executive MBA. The scholarship reflects the shared mission of the University and the cyber industry to encourage gender balance in cyber leadership teams, and provides practical support for developing strong female talent.
Up to 10 scholarships are available for female students joining our CEMBA programme in January 2025. The scholarship is £18,000, divided into equal amounts and awarded per year of study.
Who is eligible?
The scholarship is available for female Cyber Security Executive MBA programme applicants. Applicants must have received either a conditional or an unconditional offer for a place at Lancaster University for January 2025 entry on the Cyber Security Executive MBA programme, which they have accepted.
Selection criteria will be based on:
- Academic achievement (assessed through CV, transcripts, personal statement, and interview)
- Professional achievement: in particular, evidence of leadership or leadership potential (assessed through CV and the personal statement)
- A desire to inspire/act as a role model (assessed through the personal statement)
- A readiness and enthusiasm to become a committed cyber ambassador for the School, representing the School’s values, both whilst on the programme and beyond.
How to apply
To be considered, candidates must submit a complete an application for the Cyber Security Executive MBA and upload a supporting personal statement as part of the application form submissions, addressing how they meet the scholarship selection criteria.
Deadline
There is no fixed application deadline. All offer-holders will be considered at each admissions stage. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to increase your chances of receiving a scholarship. Only completed applications will be considered in each application round.
Payment of the scholarship
- The total Management School CEMBA Scholarship for Women will be divided into equal amounts and awarded per year of study for part-time students.
- The Management School CEMBA Scholarship for Women is a fee waiver and is not available as a cash alternative.
For part-time programmes, the scholarship is awarded for subsequent years of study, subject to successfully completing the previous year of study.
- The award is for January 2025 entry only.
- Scholarships are reviewed annually, and we cannot guarantee funding for the following entry year for applicants who decide to defer.
Combining scholarship awards
This award will not be combined with any of the other scholarships available.

- Applicants must apply for and have an offer to study on the Cyber Security Executive MBA Postgraduate Taught degree programme at our Lancaster campus for the 2024/25 academic year.
- Lancaster University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if award holders are subsequently found to be ineligible or if the terms and conditions of the scholarship are not adhered to.

- Scholarships are automatically considered as part of the programme application.
- Scholarship awards will be confirmed automatically for January 2025 entry, throughout the recruitment cycle.
- If you meet the stated scholarship eligibility and award criteria, the scholarship will be confirmed.
- The scholarship is confirmed once Lancaster University is in receipt of your final exam transcript.
