Seed treatment projects are variously carried out in collaboration with Nigel Paul, Ian Dodd and Jane Taylor in Lancaster, Jason Moore and Wagdy Sobeih of Arid AgriTech/Lightworks Poly Ltd., and Lee Cawood of The Atrium.
We have a long-term collaboration with Jurriaan Ton (Sheffield) and Estrella Luna (Birmingham) on long-term and transgenerational immune priming in response to biotic stress and chemical priming agents, studying the mechanisms and ecological and agricultural importance of transgenerational priming.
Our work on maternal effects of biotic stress on seed dormancy was in collaboration with Prof Ian Graham at the University of York.
Fundamental research on abiotic stress, in particular climate change-related issues such as stomatal responses to increased temperature, CO2 and ozone levels are a collaboration with Dr Martin McAinsh in LEC, and Dr Julia Davies, University of Cambridge (ozone stress).
Applied projects related to novel approaches to crop protection from biotic and abiotic stress are carried out in collaboration with Nigel Paul (LEC) and various businesses, including Plant Impact, Biotech Services, Environmental Crop Management, Adgro, HITAS Consulting, and Grazers.
