In the Good University Guide 2017, Mechanical Engineering now ranks 6th in the UK after a climb from 7th place, demonstrating the Engineering Department’s ambition and commitment to the student experience. In addition, their students have the best graduate prospects in the UK for Mechanical Engineering, with over 95% of graduates securing employment or undertaking further study within 6 months.
The School of Computing and Communications occupies top place for graduate prospects in Computer Science with a commendable score of 98% graduate success.
Successful rankings were also obtained by Geography and Environmental Science (7th), Physics (8th) and Mathematics (9th), underlining Lancaster’s reputation as a Top 10 University.

It includes an analysis of student satisfaction with the quality of the teaching at each institution.
