The annual Science and Technology taster day saw year twelve pupils taking part in a variety of different lectures and practical workshops, giving them a glimpse of life at a top UK university.

The sessions this year ranged from a “Whodunit” DNA testing session to pupils learning how to run an eye tracking experiment in Psychology.

The pupils and teachers were also given a tour of the University campus, including Lancaster’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the new Engineering and Chemistry buildings.

The event attracted pupils from across the region, including Carmel College, LRGS, Morecambe High School, Ripley St Thomas, Rossall School, Runshaw College, Ulverston Victoria High School and Winstanley College.

Deborah Craine, who helped to organise the event, said: "It was great to meet with such enthusiastic students and we hope to inspire them to study science and technology here at Lancaster in 2016."
