Lancaster University in world top 150
Lancaster University remains in the top 150 institutions according to QS World University Rankings 2025 released today.
Listed as 141st out of 1,503 universities around the world in the latest QS global league table.
Lancaster also came 44th in the global league table for sustainability, 16th amongst UK universities.
Research produced at Lancaster University continues to be highly cited coming 157th in the world for Citations per Faculty.
Lancaster remains high in the world rankings for number of international students, placed 105th, and international faculty members, placed 166th.

The QS World University Rankings includes 1,503 universities across 106 countries and regions, making them the largest and most diverse QS World Rankings to date.
The league table takes into consideration a number of criteria including: academic and employer reputation, employment outcomes, the number of citations per faculty, sustainability, and international staff and student numbers.
Eleven subjects at Lancaster were recently listed in the world top 100 with Linguistics coming third, English Language and Literature ranking 38th and Marketing ranking between 21st and 50th.
Lancaster University also holds a TEF Gold award for outstanding teaching, an outstanding learning environment and delivering excellent employment outcomes for its students. This is the highest possible rating a university can achieve.
