Second film festival at Health Innovation Campus will showcase tales from across the North West

Filmmakers and academics at the 2023 Health Documentary Film Festival

The second annual health documentary film festival with LA1 Shorts will shine a light on stories of health challenges from across the region.

The afternoon of short documentaries and Q&A sessions with filmmakers and academic experts will take place at the Health Innovation Campus at Lancaster University from 1pm to 5pm on Wednesday 6 November.

Laura Kornas, Head of Health and Care Partnerships at Lancaster University, said: “Last year’s health documentary film festival featured documentaries across a range of health-aligned subject matters which were fascinating for our audience.

“This year we have improved the format and maintained the quality of the films. It is great to see films from our own academic colleagues being shown this year.

“I look forward to watching all the films with members of the audience and seeing how the creative efforts on display spark the imaginations of those who come to see them.”

Steve Fairclough, of LA1 Shorts, added: “This is the second collaboration between LA1Shorts and the Health Innovation Campus, celebrating and sharing our health and wellbeing documentaries.

“We look forward to hearing from the filmmakers, academics, and connected organisations. It promises to be another great event, so please book a place.”
