Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) has been announced as the winner of the Best Business School Partnership award during the AMBA & BGA Excellence Awards 2021.

The award, which was presented virtually on 29th January, recognises the development of an excellent partnership between LUMS and Transnational Academic Group to deliver the Executive MBA at Lancaster University Ghana.

Lancaster University Ghana was formed in 2014 to help young people realise their ambitions via undergraduate degrees in business and law, as well as through an Executive MBA delivered by Lancaster University Management School. To date, there have been six cohorts and more than 100 students who have completed the Lancaster Executive MBA in Ghana.

The Best Business School Partnership award recognises organisations that are passionate about building networks and have adopted a proactive, innovative approach to strategic collaboration.

Emma Watton is LUMS’ Programme Director for the Executive MBA programmes which are delivered in the UK, Ghana and Malaysia. She said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award. We are so fortunate to work with such a high calibre of students on our EMBA programme, and this award acknowledges the energy and commitment behind the partnership that helps the EMBA deliver so much impact for our students right across the world.”

Professor Angus Laing, Dean of Lancaster University Management School, said: “This award is recognition of the fantastic teamwork that lies behind our EMBA programmes – and I’d like to thank each and every staff member and student involved. Our international partners are crucial members of our LUMS community and I’m proud to see that Lancaster stands out within the business school community for leading the way.”

The AMBA and BGA awards aim tobring the global business education community together to celebrate excellence and recognise achievement amongst business schools, students and graduates. This year, 60 finalists across 11 categories were shortlisted.
