Lancaster is ranked ninth out of 129 universities in the Complete University Guide 2018, maintaining its position from last year.
In addition, Lancaster is ranked ninth in The Guardian University League Table 2018 as well as The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017.
This means Lancaster University is ranked in the top ten in three major league tables.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark E. Smith said he was delighted.

In separate listings covering 70 subjects in the Complete University Guide 2018, Lancaster makes the Top Ten for 13 of the 34 subjects it offers.
Lancaster is ranked : 1st for Dance, Drama and Cinematics (which includes Theatre and Film); 2nd for Social Work; 4th for Creative Writing; 5th for Communication and Media Studies and Marketing; 6th for Religious Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Accounting and Finance; 7th for General Engineering; 8th for German; 8th for Linguistics ; 9th for Geography and Environmental Science and 10th for Politics.
