Lancaster University has been named the top university in the North West for the 9th consecutive year, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015.
Lancaster maintains its ranking of 12th overall due to consistently good results in student satisfaction, a strong graduate jobs record, high entry standards and outstanding research. Lancaster is ranked second only to Durham in the whole of northern England.
The Guide says Lancaster’s “student satisfaction rates are up again this year to 84.2% under our analysis of the National Student Survey but its greatest strength is in research, especially for work into ageing, cyber security and energy.
“It has pioneered links with overseas universities and has a teaching and research campus in Ghana.”
Lancaster is consistently highly placed in all major league tables, charging ahead of its Russell Group peers this year to be ranked 10th in Guardian League table 2015 and ranked 11th in the Compete University Guide.
