Lancaster University is ranked 5th in the UK for Geography and Environmental Studies for the third year running by the Guardian University Guide 2018
Lancaster topped the Guardian league table for the percentage of students satisfied with their course, with 98.7 per cent of students studying Geography, Environmental and Earth Sciences happy with their degree programme.
Results are also very strong for graduate career prospects, with 84 per cent of students in graduate employment or further study six months after graduating.
Biosciences at Lancaster is ranked 17th, performing particularly well for graduate career prospects.
The high rankings follows a series of outstanding results for Geography and Environmental Science in major league tables in the past year, firmly establishing Lancaster as one of the elite places to study these subjects. These results include:
- 1st equal in UK for Physical Geography and Environmental Science in the 2016 National Student Survey
- 7th in the UK for Geography and Environmental Sciences in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017
- 9th in the UK for Geography and Environmental Sciences in the Complete University Guide 2018
- In the world top 100 for both Geography and Environmental Science in the 2017 QS World Rankings

Overall Lancaster University came 9th nationally out of 121 universities, and top in the North West, in the Guardian University Guide.
