A record 85% of Lancaster Environment Centre undergraduates achieved a higher grade degree this year.
Of the 169 students graduating in 2015, 144 gained a first or upper second, which are particularly valued by employers and enable students to do further study. No student failed, or got the lowest, third class, degree.
This reflects a steady year-on-year increase in good degrees for students studying Geography, Environmental and Earth Science, and Ecology and Conservation, up from 74% five years ago, and 65% in 2008/9.
“This is good news and likely reflects a number of factors including better tuition and the higher quality of students we are attracting,”said Dr Jennie Gilbert, Associate Director for Undergraduate Delivery at the Lancaster Environment Centre.
