League tables can't tell you everything about a university, but they're a good place to start. Lancaster is consistently in the top ten in The Guardian University Guide and The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

We’ve also been awarded a Gold rating in the UK government's Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2017), based on our high-quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and the good careers our graduates enter.

But we are more than a top ten university, we’re a welcoming community of students from over 100 counties, and our current students are our best ambassadors.

Naomi's favourite places

Digital content ambassador Naomi gives you a guided tour to her favourite places on the main University campus.

Our accommodation has been rated the UK’s Best University Halls in the National Student Housing Awards eight times since 2010.

Most undergraduate students choose to live on campus in their first year and find our collegiate setup the perfect way to make friends and settle in. There are eight undergraduate colleges to choose from, breaking down the university population into smaller communities, and all accommodation is located within these colleges.

What does it mean to be part of a Lancaster college?

Abbie, one of our digital content ambassadors, gives you a guide to life in one of Lancaster's 9 colleges.

On campus, our college social spaces sit right at the heart of campus life. Head into the city centre and you’ll find even more spaces to hang out, meet friends and enjoy yourself.

Raiza in the city

Digital Content Ambassador Raiza takes us around her favourite spots in Lancaster city for relaxing, eating and socialising.

University is more than a degree – it’s preparation for your future. We're ranked 3rd in the UK for graduate prospects in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 and offer lots of opportunities to gain vital experience whilst you study.
