                                                                      nor precision about it, like Marino Falaiers;  The Pedestal
                                                                      bit under the Judgment of Solomon is very base and vulgar
                                                                      all curled loves, and heavy:  utterly differing in all
                                                                      respects from the other angle leafage.
                                                                      Its base is of course an addition of later times, and
                                                                      looks it.  It is a mere ring fastened down by meagre
                                                                      straight scaley bands;  full of coarse drill holes
                                                                      instead of the noble shiel[d]dlike leaves.  It is rough
                                                                      chiselled.  Its section at p 56 1 pal. book.
                                                                             Finally[,], the pilaster capital has leafage like the angle one
                                                                      meaningless figures with swords, maces, and shields, - one 
                                                                      with a winged cap:  (This is the half pillar next
                                                                      Porta della Carta.
                                                                             I have now to examine the leafage of these pillars, clo[a]sing
                                                                      them b[v]y their sections
