Ca’ Da Mosto (Cannaregio 5631, Nadali & Vianello (1999) Tav. 17). Grand Canal at Rio dei Santi Apostoli.
Notebook M2 p.75. ‘Its general arrangement at p 51’ At Notebook M2 p.75L Ruskin refers to this page at ‘51’. However, as page 50 has been torn out of the notebook, this page is really p.50L. And at Notebook M2 p.75: ‘Palazzo at S. Apostoli on Grand Canal Its general arrangement at p 51 l door book showing places of lower arches by upper windows. The whole arch A has however been effaced and two pilasters have been added {put} to the next arch on the right: of the plinth section, but rough cut and altogether modern in look. There are therefore only four shafts in upper story, and three below. of the two right hand arches no traces left’
Notebook M2 p.75L ‘Measurements at S Apostoli’ There is a reference to ‘No 112’ as relating to this building but this is probably a mistake on Ruskin’s part as No 112 is concerned with the Ducal Palace, Lower Arcade. This cannot be verified as Sheet No. 112 [n/a] is missing.
