Update: Sports Centre Car Park improvements

Cars parked at Lancaster University

Lancaster University is working with external contractors to improve traffic management within the Sports Centre car park, as part of an ongoing initiative to provide a safe and efficient parking experience for customers.

The work commenced mid-March and there are now a few final elements to complete over the next two weeks.

The updates already in place include:

  • A change in the flow and direction of traffic. This involves all customer traffic turning immediately left into the car park, and at various points adhering to new ‘Give Way’ markings to ensure a smooth and safe flow of vehicles
  • New height restriction barriers set to a maximum height of 2.3m, meaning most vehicles can park as normal
  • Arrangements can be made for customers arriving in vehicles higher than 2.3 meters. Please contact a member of the Sport Lancaster Management Team to discuss this further: sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk

Updates will be communicated on the Sport Lancaster website, Facebook, and Instagram channels. Users of the Sports Centre Car Park are encouraged to read new directional signage, road markings, and safety signage.

If you have any concerns relating to the changes to the Sports Centre car park, please contact a member of the Sport Lancaster Management Team at sportenquiries@lancaster.ac.uk.
