University residences upgrades taking place this summer


Students in Lancaster University accommodation.

A rolling scheme of retained residences refurbishments, updates and upgrades will be taking place across campus between July and September this summer.

The works include the installation of district heating and access control measures, the replacement of fire doors, and other refurbishments, and enabling works to enhance the University’s on-campus student accommodation offering. The areas scheduled for works include:

Major refurbishment and district heating installation

  • Major refurbishment - Bowland Hall residences, Houses 8 to 15
  • District heating installation, Bowland Hall, Houses 1 to 7

Fire door replacement

  • Slaidburn House
  • Graduate College House 3
  • Graduate College House 10
  • Graduate College House 11

Access control installation

  • Bowland Hall residences
  • Bowland Main residences
  • Bowland ASH House
  • County John Creed
  • George Fox

Minor refurbishment and enabling works

  • County South rooftop flats
