Lancaster University Ice & Snow Policy 2023/24
Lancaster University has published its Ice & Snow Policy 2023/24 and Ice and Snow Safe Pedestrian Routes map, detailing the work undertaken to ensure that campus remains a safe place for pedestrians, cyclists, and traffic in events of icy or snowy conditions.
The policy outlines the University’s approach to the risks presented by ice and snow, and details the gritting procedures, pre and post season preparations, salt bin locations, escalation procedures and priority areas for snow clearance and gritting in place in the event of ice or snow.
Please can all members of staff familiarise themselves with the safe pedestrian routes in places across campus in the event of icy and snowy weather. Please take care when traveling throughout campus, particularly first thing in the morning, when conditions may be colder.
Both documents are available on the Facilities homepage, in addition to more information and resources about the Facilities Helpdesk, Campus and Community Life and other Facilities operations taking place throughout the University.
