Great Hall Complex Spine entrance remodelling – 29 August

A preview of the new Great Hall Complex entrance.

The Spine entrance to the Great Hall Complex will undergo significant remodelling works from Tuesday 29 August until Late October. The works will include the removal of the current manually operated doors to be replaced with automatic doors and recessed down-lighters for better visibility in low light. New cladding and glass facades will be installed in addition to an extended canopy, creating a new Spine entrance area. New tension wires and dedicated signage areas will also be implemented to allow banners and other artwork to be displayed on the outside of the building. Additional works will include the installation of a new platform lift, which will be completed later in the year.

The Spine entrance to the Great Hall Complex will be out of use throughout the duration of the works. For access to the Great Hall and Nuffield Theatre please use the main entrance to the west side of the building opposite Bowland Hall.

The project will include some localised noisy works in and around the Spine entrance to the Great Hall Complex. The path between the Great Hall Complex and the County South building will be closed, with an alternative accessible route available via the County South quad – click here for the alternative route.
