George Fox building: pipe work outside south façade – 22 January
From Monday 22 January, important works will take place to identify and repair a key area of district heating pipe work on the south façade of the George Fox building, and will be ongoing until the source of the issue is identified and resolved. The works will take place outside of the building and may include the use of a small machine and drainage pump, which may cause some localised noise disruption, however all efforts will be taken to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum while the project is undertaken.
The works may cause restrictions or disruption to foot traffic in some areas; however, no rooms or corridors are expected to be closed. The pipe work is external to the building and buried underground within the surrounding area. The works will take place in close proximity to the exterior of student accommodation, which is located on floors C and D, although they are not expected to cause significant disruption to these rooms and will not take place before 8am. Access to student accommodation will be maintained throughout the course of the works.
We apologise for any disruption caused while we work to improve campus. For more information regarding this and other current and upcoming works across campus please visit News | Lancaster University or contact the Facilities Helpdesk: 01524 593333, facilities.helpdesk@lancaster.ac.uk.
