We appreciate that the Net Zero Energy Project works can be noisy and may disrupt you. Here is a list of study spaces available to students and staff on campus, along with their availability during term time, to help you find an alternative place to work away from noise disruption.

Bowland Bar Area (A004)
Open daily from 9am-5pm and bookable between 5pm and 11pm by contacting the Bowland College Manager. This room is occasionally used by societies for meetings and other activities, please email the College Manager to check availability or to book. Various tables and comfortable seating available.
Barker House Farm
Open Mon-Sun, 8am-10pm and Wed, 8am-11pm (food and drink is served at Barkers from 8am-11am and 12pm-8pm). A large space with various tables and seating areas.
Cartmel Study Area
Open to Cartmel College students and staff Mon-Sun, 8am-10pm and Wed, 8am-11pm. A computer room and a group study area are located across two floors.
County Bar (The Northern Oak)
Open daily from 8am-10pm (Bar opening times Wed-Fri, 6pm-10pm). Various tables and seating areas available.
County Common Room (A060/062)
Open daily from 8am-10pm. This room can be booked for exclusive use, please contact the County College Manager to check availability or to book. The space has sofas, seating areas and a large-screen TV.
County Corner (A048)
Open daily from 8am-10pm. A relaxed, quiet space with sofas, tables, seating, and a kitchen area. Free tea and coffee is provided.
County Games Room (A052/A053)
Open daily from 8am-10pm. Various tables and seating available.
County PC Lab (A044/A053)
Open 24 hours a day. The computer lab may be occupied for teaching between 9am-6pm on weekdays, but the equipment is open for general use outside of these times. You will need to swipe your University card at the entrance to get access to the lab.
County Study Room (A010/A011)
Open daily from 8am-10pm. A space with a sofa, seating areas, and two PCs.
Furness Study Room (A008)
Open daily from 9am-10.30pm. You will need to swipe your University card at the entrance to get access to the room out of hours (5.30pm-10.30pm). A quiet space with desks and two PCs.
Furness TV Room (A023)
Open to Furness College students and staff from 9am-10.30pm daily. You will need to swipe your University card at the entrance to get access to the room. A relaxed, quiet space with comfortable seating and a large-screen TV.
Trevor Back Bar Room (A028)
Open daily from 9am-10.30pm. This is a bookable room, please email the Furness College Manager to check availability or to book. A quiet space with sofas and a seating area.
Trevor Bar
Open Mon-Fri, 9am-11pm (Bar opening times Mon-Sat, 4.30pm-11pm). Various tables and seating available adjacent to the games area.
Graduate Social Hub (A106)
Open 24 hours a day, quiet study only between 11pm-8am. Postgraduate students can access the space by swiping a University card at the entrance. Students and staff from other colleges can contact the Graduate College Porter to get access. The space has mixed large worktables and sofas adjacent to the games area.
Graduate PC Lab (A132/A133)
Open 24 hours a day. Postgraduate students can access the space by swiping a University card at the entrance. Students and staff from other colleges can contact the Graduate College Porter to get access. Two rooms, including a room with individual study spaces with PCs and a room with shared groupwork desks and large screens.
Family Study Room
Open daily from 9am-7pm, with priority given to students and staff with children. A quiet space with a large table, smaller tables with comfortable seating, and a children’s reading and play area.
Grizedale Common Room (B02)
Open daily from 9am-5pm and bookable between 6pm-11pm by contacting the Grizedale College Manager. This room is occasionally used by societies for meetings and other activities, please email the College Manager to check availability or to book. A quiet space with sofas, tables, a large screen and a kitchenette just outside.
The Learning Zone is open 24 hours a day for studying and group work. There are a number of bookable pods that you can reserve in advance if you want a quieter place for collaborative working.
The Library has several study spaces, including different floors for quiet and silent study and family-friendly areas. There are also facilities for group study with equipment to help collaborative working such as whiteboards and monitors/screens that you can connect a computer. You also have the option to book a study space in advance.
Lonsdale Bar Area (A06)
Open daily from 6am-12am. Various tables and seating areas are available in the bar space.
Lonsdale Off Campus Kitchen (A08)
Open daily from 6am-12am. Tea, coffee and cooking facilities are available to use.
Lonsdale PC Lab (B02)
Open 24 hours a day. The computer lab may be occupied for teaching between 9am-6pm on weekdays, but the equipment is open for general use outside of these times. You will need to swipe your University card at the entrance to get access to the lab.
Lonsdale Study Room (B03)
Open daily from 6am-12am.
Pendle Brew

Harpley Lounge
Open Mon-Fri (except Wednesday afternoons) from 10am-10pm.
Students’ Union Office (A040)
Open access to students Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm. Various desks and sofas are available to use.
