Speaker bio:
Aman Bhutani (MBA, 1999) has over 20 years of experience in technical, management, and leadership roles, ushering brands into new eras of innovation and global growth.
He earned his MBA from Lancaster University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Delhi University. He and his family moved from Delhi, India, to Seattle, Washington, where they now reside, to pursue his booming career in the technology industry. He is a committed philanthropist to many organisations, including Lancaster’s LUMS Investors in Excellence programme. Since 2018, he has been on the board of directors of The New York Times Company and currently serves on the Audit and Finance committees.
Prior to joining GoDaddy in 2019, Aman spent nearly a decade at Expedia Inc., where he served as Brand Expedia Group president and had leadership roles in the worldwide engineering team, culminating as CTO from 2010-2015. Before joining Expedia, Aman held multiple technology roles at JPMorgan Chase and Co. and Washington Mutual, Inc. Before that, Aman founded and was the technical lead at start-up Critical Sense and was a senior engineer at a consultancy. He has been CEO of global internet domain registrar and small business technology provider GoDaddy since September 2019, leading their mission to empower entrepreneurs everywhere to make opportunities more inclusive for all.
“I had this view on how important relationships and leadership were to technology firms, and how – frankly – tech leadership was very poor, because most of the people leading were not technologists, and technologists were not good at leading people”.
