Your family's participation contributes to advancing our knowledge of child development while having a great time. If you've never experienced Babylab before, this is the perfect chance to explore more, and potentially spark your interest in registering your children for future research projects. However, there's absolutely no pressure to do so; it's simply an excellent opportunity to get to know us and understand our work.
Please secure your preferred time slot (each day has its own Eventbrite link). We kindly request that if anyone is unwell, please notify us in advance to ensure everyone's well-being. We are looking forward to welcoming you soon!
What to expect:
Upon arrival (during the first 30min), we'll welcome you with a warm reception and provide complimentary hot and cold beverages and healthy kid-friendly snacks. Our friendly researchers, Malcolm and Radek, will introduce themselves and their studies, giving you the chance to ask questions and provide consent for your child's participation. Radek will also dazzle the children with enchanting magic tricks to break the ice, after which your little ones can explore our toy-filled play area, including a delightful ball pool.
In the nearby research rooms, your family can take part in our engaging quick studies. After your involvement in the studies, you can continue the fun with face painting and arts and crafts activities.
Our studies revolve around captivating themes such as Optical Illusions and Theory of Mind, providing both parents and children with exciting insights. As a token of our appreciation, each child will receive an age-appropriate book for their participation. Parents also receive £5 to assist with travel expenses.
We understand the challenges of childcare, so feel free to bring along older or younger siblings. Just give us a heads up so we can prepare accordingly. If any of your other little ones fall within the 4-7 age group, they may also be able to participate in the studies if time permits. Our friendly and DBS-checked Babylab researchers will be on hand to help entertain the kids.
