Making your research open access is not only a University (and REF) requirement but has many substantial benefits to the researcher.
This session will give an overview of open access and the different routes the researcher can take including using Lancaster’s repository Pure. The following topics will be covered:
-Definition and benefits of open access
-Two main routes to making your research open access: via the publisher’s platform (gold open access) or depositing full text into Pure
-Funders’ open access requirements (including REF)
-Choosing a journal to publish in
-Potential open access funding and publishing agreements
This event has been organised by the Library’s Open Research Team, supporting your Open Access, Research Data Management and Research Intelligence needs. We cover research data management plans, support the collation of research impact reports and ensure open access compliance. For ad-hoc support or to find more training sessions, visit https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/library/open-research/ or contact openaccess@lancaster.ac.uk.
