Kick-off day one of Campus in the City with the carnival sounds of Baybeat performing outside More Music, Morecambe!

Then, step inside to explore fascinating research and hands-on activities - all drop-in, so no booking needed. Just turn up and get involved!

Whodunnit? A Crumby Crime Scene Investigation

Calling all junior detectives (and grown up ones too!) A sneaky biscuit thief is on the loose, and we need your help to crack the case. Using real forensic science, you'll analyse DNA clues left at the crime scene and help uncover who stole from Dr Biscuit! Suitable for curious minds of all ages, come and put your sleuthing skills to the test. Along the way, you'll discover how biology helps solve crimes and learn about the wibbly-wobbly molecule that makes us who we are.

The Language Lab

Want to find out how your tongue moves when you talk? Or how noisy your nose is while speaking? Discover the secrets of speech! See your own tongue in action using our ultrsound machine, crack a language themed escape game (if you dare!), be amazed by a live beatboxing demo to reveal the way we use our mouths to make music or test your knowledge in our quiz on gendered language in animation. Perfect for curious minds of all ages.

Where Are the Doctors? A Game and Exhibition Adventure!

Come and get creative and design a poster to attract more doctors to work in Lancaster and Morecambe. How do doctors decide where to work? Why do some places have loads of doctors while others don't have enough? Join the Mapping Underdoctored Areas Team for a curious exhibition featuring comic strips and interactive activities exploring the big questions behind healthcare access. Lightsaber Science: Unleash the Force!

Lights, science, action! Build your own 'Lightsaber in a tube' and explore the hidden power of light. Is blue light more powerful than red or green light? Guess Who? Dress Up Like a Researcher

From lab coats to raincoats, safety goggles to sunglasses, different researcher jobs need different gear. Try them on, snap a photo and discover how explorers, researchers and scientists dress for their work, whether in a lab, office or out in the wild. Take part in a community drawing about your dream research project, imagine where in the world (or beyond) you'd investigate and what you'd need to wear. Are You Lost? Explore Bowland with Lancaster Arts

Join artist Rob St John for creative activities where you can explore the beautiful Bowland landscape through mapping, recording, writing, and making. Whether you know the area or you don’t, you’ll help contribute to a series of art installations, including film, textile, and sound art, to be showcased in Bowland in 2025.
