The International Observatory on End of Life Care are hosting their first research seminar for the 2024/2025 academic year with a talk from visiting PhD student Charlotte Hald about Advance Care Planning in Denmark.

Charlotte Hald is a nurse and PhD student visiting from Denmark. The working title of her PhD project is "Developing a Model for End-of-Life Care in Transitional Care for Community-Dwelling Older Adults." She will provide a presentation on the background of her PhD (she is currently in her second year of study) and some of the challenges associated with Advance Care Planning for independent living older adults in Denmark. Additionally, she will present preliminary results from a scoping review: "Advance Care Planning and End-of-Life Communication in Transitional Care for Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Scoping Review."

Charlotte has 20 years of experience as a clinical nurse, primarily in the fields of primary care, hospice care, dementia, and ICU. In addition to her studies, she is a member of the Danish National Council for Ethics in Nursing and serves as a board member for a local hospice.
