In the Good University Guide 2017, we achieved 6th place in the UK in after a climb from 7th, demonstrating our ambition as a department and our commitment to the student experience.
Our Mechanical Engineering programmes offer the best graduate prospects in the UK, with over 95% of our graduates securing employment or undertaking further study within 6 months.
Professor Claudio Pauloni, Head of Department, said: “It is very rewarding to see our success in the latest league table. This excellent result demonstrates our commitment to continuously improve the learning experience of our students and assure them an exciting career in engineering.”
These results reinforce our recent successes in the 2017 Guardian University Guide, where we achieved 2nd place for Mechanical Engineering and 6th place for Chemical Engineering. In the 2016 National Student Survey, 95% of our mechanical engineering students said they found their degree ‘intellectually stimulating’, whilst 93% of electronic and electrical engineering students said the same about their programmes.
