Due to Data Protection laws, Lancaster University is limited in the information it can provide about our students.

University is an exciting time when students will develop their academic understanding alongside other important life skills.

At Lancaster we want to enable students to develop strategies for managing the multiple responsibilities they have to deal with, such as finance and workload, in order to increase their resilience and resourcefulness. We have excellent support available to assist them when they need it.

If you have a serious worry about your student, do let us know. You can contact ASK, our student enquiry desk, during office hours. Out of hours please contact Security (01524 594541).

We will take your information seriously and follow up after hearing from you. However, please be aware that we will be unable to provide any information back, other than general guidance. This is because UK law (Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation) and University policy prohibit the disclosure of an individual's information - except where the student has given express permission or in emergency situations.

All Universities in the UK follow similar guidelines.
