Campus, teaching and learning spaces

Lancaster University’s campus is set out over 578 acres, with most buildings accessible from a central walkway known as the Spine. The Disability Service works closely with the Facilities team to ensure that the campus is welcoming and accessible to all students. If you are having difficulties accessing any part of the campus, we would encourage you to get in touch with us about this. Likewise, we have a range of different teaching venues and if any of this infrastructure (e.g. desks, seating or layout of rooms) is causing difficulties, we would like to know about it. We will do everything that we can to ensure reasonable adjustments are implemented and prevent barriers to your studies. Your feedback can also help us to plan for the future to make sure that our campus environment meets the needs of all students.

The University continues to invest in its campus, but this can sometimes mean that certain routes are closed whilst work is completed. Students who are signed up to our Moodle page will get notifications of closures that may affect accessibility. Alternatively, you can see the latest work updates on the Facilities news page

To report accessibility issues please email the disability service. Alternatively, if you spot damage or a fault that could affect accessibility on campus, please consider reporting this to Facilities directly. You can either do this by speaking to the staff on the reception desk in University House, calling 01524 593333 or via the online reporting tool.
