His Excellency Jesmond Cutajar - Ambassador of Malta to Iceland


Jesmond Cutajar is presented with letters of credence

At the end of 2021, H.E. Jesmond Cutajar (MA Diplomacy and International Relations, 2015) presented his letters of credence as Ambassador of Malta to Iceland to H.E. Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, President of the Republic of Iceland at a ceremony held at Bessastaðir, Presidential Residence in Reykjavik.

The presentation of credentials was preceded by the Ambassador presenting his Copie d’Usage to the Chief of Protocol. While in Reykjavik, the Ambassador held several meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whereby several topics of mutual interest were discussed. During the several meetings the excellent relationship between the two island states was highlighted and both sides augured for the further enhancement of the relations between Malta and Iceland.

Furthermore, Ambassador Cutajar also had the opportunity to meet with H.E. Lucie Samcová HallAllen, Head of the EU Delegation in Reykjavik; H.E. Gerard Pokurszynski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps of Iceland and Dr Jon Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland. While in Iceland, the Ambassador also met with the small Maltese diaspora living in the Nordic island.
