Creative Writing to Copywriting
Before University, Hannah was a student with a keen love of literature, creative writing and a deep desire to stay put in the north of England. Fast forward four years and one 1st class degree later, she is now a London-based copywriter and creative marketer, deploying the skills and relying on the passions she developed at University on a near-daily basis. She was a student at County College (the best one, right?) where she enthusiastically wrote her way through first year on an English Literature and Creative Writing course that swept through various eras and movements at whirlwind speed. Her turning point was in second year, when the course took on a new sense of specificity and real bonds with tutors finally began to take shape. In particular, Hannah mentions her tutor-heroes Andrew Tate (Literature and the Visual Arts), Keith Hanley (Romanticism), Tony Pinkney (Dissertation) and Eoghan Walls (Creative Writing).
Currently she's working in her desired industry - travel - as the Marketing Executive at Snaptrip. Snaptrip is not only an exciting central London startup who have her at the helm of both content creation and email marketing, but is also a fantastic team of young-guns, each an expert in their fields. On Wednesdays you’ll find her at the News Building on London Bridge helping out the Sunday Times Travel Magazine as their Features Assistant - a job full of perks and a sense of responsibility that she adores. On this path from a literature-loving Lancashire lass to East London worker-bee, Lancaster was a vital, and truly happy, step in the journey. Hannah would recommend Lancaster University to anyone, for its blend of quaint town-vibes and countryside-campus, bustling student population and dedicated tutors. To end this on a semi-cheesy note, she is also indebted to Lancaster for another reason as it's where she met her partner, who she now lives with in the South.
