After 12 years of being called Reckless Sleepers, this original and daring company have
finally tackled the idea of sleep.
Sleepers grew out of known research combined with personal experimentation into the
effects of dreaming, of sleeplessness and sleep deprivation. The company made a faithful
record of their states of mind and body, spending days in the dark and nights in the
sodium-lit city with the drunks and the seagulls.
This show is a fascinating and intense recreation of this time, when together they entered
a twilight zone of paranoia, hysteria and heightened senses in their quest for knowledge.
A must see for lovers of cutting-edge theatre, for members of the scientific community and
for anyone who has spent long nights revising.
Reckless Sleepers are a collection of creative artists who are invited to work together
rather than an ensemble company. At the core of the group are codirectors Mole Wetherell
and Daniel Belasco Rogers. Imaginative and diverse, Reckless Sleepers excel at theatre,
outdoor installation and educational work.
