Forget the hassle of travelling to the big cities. Lancaster's Nuffield Theatre has booked the best national and international dancers, theatre companies and comedy performers that you will find anywhere, and they are all on your doorstep.
Theatre is well represented this season with Forced Entertainment's enigmatic The Travels, Rocket Theatre's award winning Howard the Rookie ("vividly horrible and horribly funny") and the provocative riddles and twists of Hello You from Fecund Theatre.
That's not all. Sheffield based Third Angel explore missing persons and lost dreams in their atmospheric Leave No Trace and Reckless Sleepers tackle lost dreams of a different kind in their semi-autobiographical Sleepers. The stunning METRO-BOULOT-DODO bring a unique reworking of a classic 60s film Blownup and Volcano Theatre Company offer to reveal the most difficult sexual practices know to mankind in TalkSexShow.
We are also delighted to have snapped up the sardonic Comedian/Poet John Hegley who will be playing with words and his audiencewith words and his audience, in The Sketch Books, and the sharply funny Susan Earl and Janice Phayre combine comedy and drama in ATC's sublime and surreal Out of Our Heads.
Dance lovers, haven't been neglected either. Akram Khan
returns with the eagerly awaited show Kaash, and a team of superb
North West based dancers perform Clever and other pieces
in the culmination of a 'Livewire' collaborative project with choreographer Thomas
Lehmen.
Lastly, the astonishing Vincent Dance Theatre examine the power of sexual attraction in Let The Mountains Lead You To Love.
We look forward to your company.
