This version of the Journal was dictated by Fox to an amanuensis, probably his son-in-law Thomas Lower, who made corrections at at least two stages during the process. Besides this, the manuscript was marked up at some point, presumably for printing. The transcription shows corrections and mark-up using the following conventions:

deletion by first corrector (Lower)
addition by first corrector (Lower)
deletion by second corrector (also Lower?)
addition by second corrector (also Lower?)
other in-text mark-up (possibly Ellwood?)

This part of the edition is arranged following the layout of the original manuscript, including the various narrative and documentary interpolations. (Narative sections are colour-coded grey, interpolations beige.) The folio numbers (on the left) link through to text and image. From there you may go to text and modern-spelling version; text compared with the Short Journal; and text compared with the 1694 edition. The summary immediately below will take you to the relevant and more detailed part of the contents list.
