Researching Networked Learning: Diversity and Uniformity

Organiser: Philip A. Watland
Lancaster University

Symposium Overview

This symposium will present four research papers that approach researching networked management learning from four different knowledge interests and research approaches.

Networked learning is seen as covering a wide spectrum of research areas, including management learning, which in its self is a diverse area as represented in the research papers comprising this symposium.

Yet researching networked learning is also seen as representing a common focus on learning and/or networks from both a theoretical and knowledge interest perspective. Whilst emphasizing the value of diversity in approaches, theoretical influences and methodologies, the underlining uniformity of the focus of these approaches are also represented in the research papers comprising this symposium.

Each of the four research papers report on the author's current PhD research, and describe their research perspective, knowledge interest, and preliminary research results. We expected the studies to be of interest to conference participants in their own right.
