Fig 3. Arrangement of Cornices and
					masonry -a b c d is one block. c d e f. another
					b c g h another. g h to i another. ih im another.
while the upper and lower cornices are continuous
the angles - have at most one joint irregularly set.
I never saw anything so soft & finished as the
working of the lower curve of the central plinth
					B3. M3 here is B2 M2. fig 2.

[diagram] Fig 2

smooth as satin

Fig 1. Outside . fig 2. inside. section
of white marble cornice of balcony
A B above, in fig 1 . is the true
breadth of the top. and B and
B2 are then the same points
I have no doubt the lines of the
red marble below R. R . should
be vertically under a A and B2
This is clear by comparing No 74 , F is the line M2 No 74 is at
M2 in fig 2 here. also. fig 2. C. No 74, is the exact size of
this section of the internal moulding of 4 foil: and a. in that section
is a2 on the large figure: on the line N a2. Now by fig 3. I
know the thickness of the marble af N a2 to be= c d. Fig 3:

						         vertical
Now [is?] by adding to c c. twice The excess of b upon a, in C of fig 2.
I find the thickness of the marble on the line M2: which accordingly I
find to be just equal A - B. here.

These plinths and cornices go round the little trefoiled
pillars in front unchanged
