                                                                      		Observe also, from p 27 1 palace book, that all these
                                                                      		Bon shafts are from an inch to an inch and a half on the
                                                                      		circumference thicker than any of the set towards the
                                                                      		sea;  and this quite consistently.
                                                                      		Observe:  the height of the arcade;  from the top of the
                                                                      		great roll above 4 foils, to the top of the lowermost
                                                                      		inner plinth, is about 22 feet 2 in.
                                                                      		Opposite these Bon pillars are a series, now engaged in
                                                                      		the wall, which carry wooden brackets and on the top of
                                                                      		these part of the inner wall:  These capitals are
                                                                      		thoroughly well chiselled;  and of the worst and most
                                                                      		effeminate Bon school;  no figures;  all crumpled and
                                                                      		commonplace leavage;  they look even later than outer
                                                                      		capitals;  of Porta della Carta time perhaps.  But their
                                                                      		arrangement is very stange;  Two pilasters with
                                                                      		florid heads flank the gate near Porta della Carta,
                                                                      		to the staircase;  Then come seven shafts, and one
                                                                      		pilaster ending range:  Then:  opposite the three doubtful
                                                                      		columns, 13-15 p 28 Gothic book (1-3 p 47 above)
                                                                      		are a shaft and two flanking pilasters;  and on
