		Receptive.		Motions                                                 
Body:		Senses.			Muscles                                              	I have always felt that in every subject of science, it
Soul		Affections		Resolutions                                         	was very vain to dispute respecting methods of classification;
Spirit		Intelligence		Imagination.                                    	but that many classifications would occur to
                                                                      	the minds of those who were familiar with the subject, of
Perfection of sense and morality from habit                           	which sometimes one - sometimes another, would be adopted
--- --- ---  --- ---  --- --- --   from intelligence and affection.   	according to the object in view - but of which all would
Actual or by Intelligence 1st                                         	present some inconvenience of rigidly adhered to.
Then by Character - as love attention, delight, principles            	Now for a division of man:
Finally by imagination.                                               	Three parts - Body            Soul            Intellect
Make fine arts consequent on Affection, as well as imagination.       	Body	(Muscular or Motive.  (Motive or muscular)
                                                                      		(Sentient or recipient.  (Receptive or Sensitive.)
And it is to be noted of the Receptive part of the Soul               	Soul	(Resolving or Ordaining  (Motive or revolving)
and Intellect that they are retentive as well as receptive            		(Sentient or Affectionate  (Receptive or affectionate)
the affection being maintained after the exiling object is            	Intellect (Ordaining or Imaginative - (Motive or Imagination)
removed, and the knowledge or understanding retained                  		(Sentinent or Intelligent - (Receptive or Intelligent)
by Memory:  while the preceptive part of the Body:  the               
Sense is not retentive:  but loses hold of the impression             	Now the arts address themselves to the Receptive part of
the moment the exciting object is removed.                            	all three.  To the receiving senses:  the receiving
