                                                                      		ogee ought to be as drawn, not [drawing] The first order is
                                                                      		however of the highest singularity almost a Torcello 
                                                                      		dentil, and this dentil is repeated in various part of
                                                                      		the ornamentation, mixed with a bracket ornament almost
                                                                      		precisely the late Venetian one;  though here assuredly
                                                                      		three centuries earlier.  It is the moulding q r hacked.
                                                                      		This entire archivolt fig 4 forms a pure pointed arch of
                                                                      		which the outer curve is nevertheless very blunt, and at
                                                                      Finials		the apex of this arch is set a single figure, a mere wall
                                                                      		decoration {but} of rich Romanesque fancy: the beginning of
                                                                      		finials, when it is consider d that the pilaster is severely
                                                                      		fluted and that several of the [diagram] shafts are
                                                                      		fluted thus [diagram] the combination of classical
                                                                      		dentil with Gothic form is complete, actually looking here
                                                                      		and there like some renaissance barbarism, certainly as
                                                                      		unlike a Norman aisle as well could be.
                                                                      		The small arcade outside at the top of the north side is
                                                                      		quite invaluable in twisted and zig zag pillars;  like
                                                                      		Ferrara But its principal feature is the insertion under
                                                                      		its small round arches, of the Byzantine hand blessing;
                                                                      		of cups; patinae, and other objects not intelligible
                                                                      		as occupant ornaments in the blank wall space;
