Ca d’Oro. Traceries first story ‘No 15. Fig 1. Accurate drawing of the meeting of the rolls in the tracery of the great first floor colonnade of Ca d’Oro: The foliation with the great roll of first order is very singular: the stone cutting thorough and masterly: the roll appears narrowed when it branches, owing to the sharp marking of the shallow interstice points: but it is quite true & parallel throughout, and the lines continuous in each direction: (By the bye in the lateral windows, No 17 18 &c I in vain tried to find the centres of arcs: they were continually changing:). The section given beside fig 1 is inaccurate in the cavetto’ Notebook M p.42. Notebook M p.42L gives more measures of fig 1 as A B C.
