Doge Marco Cornaro died in 1368; his tomb is in SS Giovanni e Paolo; Nino Pisano signed the statue of the Virgin and Child over the tomb. See Notebook M2 p.17; Notebook M2 p.38; Gothic Book p.22; Gothic Book p.23; Works, 9.326, Works, 11.13, 97, 102.
It is claimed at Works, 9.326 that Ruskin on occasions referred to the tomb of Pietro Cornaro when it was the tomb of Marco that he had in mind. However the evidence is that Ruskin did not confuse the two tombs.
