This is the Palazzo Contarini-Fasan, San Marco 2307, Nadali & Vianello (1999) Tav. 41, Ruskin’s House number 37, discussed at House Book 1 pp.43L and 43; House Book 1 p.44L. See also Notebook M2 p.3L where the vanishing cusps are compared with San Giovanni Evangelista; Notebook M2 p.4, where it is placed with Pisani and Cavalli houses; referred to as Zanotto’s House 28 at Notebook M2 p.35, with mention of rich balconies. The balcony is shown in Stones of Venice at Works, 10.286 (b). It appears in the Venetian Index at Works, 11.368f, where it is used to illustrate the point made at Works, 8.228 about the importance of decorating small and unimportant houses.
