2nd order house daged

For houses at the Campo of Santa Maria Mater Domini see Works, 10.166, and Works, 11.392. The reference here seems to be to the Case degli Zane at S.Croce 2172.

The daguerrotype mentioned is perhaps the one available here. That seems to be of the Case degli Zane, and cited as an example of the 2nd Order.

At the top of Notebook M p.46 is what appears to be the first attempt to set out, in words and diagrams, the 1st order, 2nd order and 3rd order of Venetian arches. In the entry dated November 23rd at Notebook M p.47, with diagrams at Notebook M p.47L, the 1st order, 2nd order, 3rd order, and 4th order are described and illustrated in sequence, and at M. 47L there is also a diagram of the 5th order.

For the second order see also Door Book.Front pastedown; House Book 1.Front pastedown; Plate XIV facing Works, 10.290. and Fig. 28b at Works, 10.294.
