10th palace

This is the reading of the text of Notebook M p.64. The myth of Venice was given substance in the Lege Daula, and reflected in the fact that Venetians were uncomfortable with using the word Palazzo of any building apart from the Palazzo Ducale. This was true even if, perhaps particularly if, the house was extremely grand like the Foscari house, even now the Casa Foscari, not the Palazzo Foscari. The problem of terminology appears on Notebook M p.64 where the body of the text refers to the 10th Palace, Palazzo, and the later side heading refers to the 10th House.
