The key output from the project is The Design of Everyday Life, co-authored by Elizabeth Shove, Matt Watson, Martin Hand and Jack Ingram. It pulls together the findings and insights from across the project's case studies to develop critical arguments on the role of consumer goods in the design of everyday life.

“This book uses the everyday artefact to break new intellectual ground for consumption studies, design analysis, and the field of material culture. Based on close empirical observation of social practice, it helps bring a new sociology of the artefact into being. It is creative, fresh, and original.” Professor Harvey Molotch, New York University

The book will be published by Berg in December 2007. Find out more on the publisher's web page.
